IFR Esports Edition 2024

FORMAT

Group Stage - Each player will play against the players in his group once.

Knockout Stage - Will feature, top 4 from the Group Stage. The players’ standings will be used as seeding to determine the bracket structure. A single elimination format will be used, having each match played on 1 leg until a winner is determined.

All matches will use the retail version of EAFC 25 “Kick Off" game mode. All teams will be "95" rated.

STANDINGS AND TIE-BREAKERS

It is the responsibility of the players to report scores to the admins once a match finishes. Three points will be awarded for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a loss in the group stage. In the event of ties in point standings, the following sequence will be used to determine who advances to the elimination stage, and who wins his group:

  1. Points earned from matches won or tied.

  2. Result of head to head game.

  3. Goal difference: Total net score for tournament games. Net score = goals scored, less goals scored against.

  4. If two teams are still tied, an 8min (6mins per half) match will be played to determine the winner.

  5. After a tied game in knock-out stage, the game will go to overtime and then penalties to determine a winner.

NO SHOWS

All no shows must be reported to an admin. The No Show grace period time is 5 minutes after the match's original start time. For example, if a match is scheduled for 10:00 AM, the no show time for this match would be 10:05 AM.

Should a player have any hardware or software problem, one must call a match admin.

If a player does not show for the game or forfeits during the game, he/she loses the game with the maximum score of 3-0.

DISCONNECTIONS

In the event of a disconnect, the game should be resumed with an implied score and the remaining time in the match played out.

CHEATING

Breaking any rule and any form of cheating, glitching, abusing in-game mechanics, or unsportsmanlike behaviour may result in a forfeit of a game, match, or ban from the Series. Cheating, glitching, and abusing in-game mechanics accusations must be verified by a tournament official. Punishable unsportsmanlike behaviour includes, but is not limited to, excessive use of foul or degrading language. For all cheating claims, the burden of proof is on the accuser.

BEHAVIOUR

All players must act professionally and display good sportsmanship throughout the qualifiers. This includes all forms of communication such as discord, in-game chat, etc.

GAME MODE

For ease of use, all games will be played in “Kick Off” Mode.

PICKING TEAMS

Every player is allowed to pick their preferred team. Teams can be picked before the start of the game. Players are allowed to use multiple teams throughout the tournament as they please. It is accepted to have the same teams play against each other (e.g. Barcelona). In that case, the ‘away’ player will have to pick Away Jersey for that team. In general, ‘away’ players are responsible for picking the jersey that does not resemble the home team jersey.
