You read that correctly, CD Project Red is currently a victim to blackmail. The thief’s persuasive items are a set of Cyberpunk 2077 files which he stole. Initially, the developer had its back to the wall, yet only at the start.

Since then, the developer has correctly contacted the right powers to deal with the situation while ignoring the criminal’s deal; CD Project Red will not negotiate. Though, it’s quite a hefty risk, since the thief has threatened to post the files all over the internet. Will this ruin the process of creating the upcoming RPG to be called Cyberpunk?

CDP has quickly assured otherwise, comforting fans with words stating that the potentially leaked files are old and possibly misleading. Therefore, they are to be avoided. The developer announced this through twitter with the following exact words;
