Road to E3 2017- Xbox Project Scorpio
Tuesday 6th June 2017, 07:45 | written by: Gabriel SciberrasXbox fans have been waiting months for E3, finally, hint after hint; the Scorpio should be premiering for the world to see. Apart from the common product, there are the Development Kits which have been shipping since 30 days ago to intercept E3.
In the video below, Kevin Gammill, an Xbox engineer, enlightens us on the intense raw power packed into the Scorpio Development Kits. These kits have immense utility, aiming to help developers in producing brand new titles. Compared to the future consumer version, the Dev Kit is an absolute monster; packing 12 GB more of delicious RAM, 4 ‘extra’ control units and a further 1TB of SSD storage. I’m pretty sure that developers aren’t the only ones that want such capability. Along with the improved internals, the look of the console changes too. Changes including a stackable design, buttons which may be programmed, a quicker transfer device and a debugging network port. It’s almost a completely different machine that has a front display too.
Confidently, he remarks that this mid-generation console will be the centrepiece of Microsoft’s presence at E3 competing with the PS4 Pro and laughing at 4K gaming. Everyone’s quite excited to see what Microsoft have deemed worthy to hide from the community for such a lengthy period of time. Just one week.
