Next Dota 2 Season Details

Following Valve’s announcement last month, that of granting third-party tournament coordinators to create their own Dota 2 major, the numbers have been calculated. An incredible amount of tournaments will riddle the next season, each of them with a sizeable prize pool.

To be precise, a total of 11 $1,000,000 majors and 11 $300,000 minors are waiting in line. After fiddling with a calculator; this sums up to $14,300,00 – a few million short of this year’s International. Speaking of which, it’s just started.  Dota 2 is growing exponentially and is proving to become more sustainable than ever.

Until now, dates for tournaments are limited to the first one which will be hosted by StarLadder. The Ukraine-based event will probably be held in the CIS region, from 11th October through the 15th with a minor prize pool of $300,000. Although we may not know too many details, we can offer tell of some organisers who’ll be getting involved in Dota 2. These include DreamHack, PGL, Beyond the Summit, Perfect World and others. The bigger names are most probably the hosts for majors.

It’s safe to say that the next Dota 2 circuit looks absolutely nuts.
