The Telegraph has reported that Chester King, the founder and acting chief executive of the British eSports Association will be meeting  with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in the next fortnight, with the aim to convince them to include esports in the Olympics. The IOC has already expressed their concerns about the validity of esports to be included in such events as they feel that they contradict the  “Olympic rules and values of sport”.

On the other hand, King is insiting that there is a lack of awarness on how strucutred the esports industry is.

There isn’t a global federation, an international federation, that’s recognised and part of what we’re doing with the IOC is hoping to come together with about seven countries that have the right values

For it to be mainstream accepted, there’s got to be a clear strategy on what to do.
