Ghost of Tsushima and the New 'Legends' Feature - A Gift that Keeps Giving

Sucker Punch has graced the community with a phenomenal game through Ghost of Tsushima. In these difficult times. achieving platinum in the narrative title seems to be all the rage, which is awesome. As we covered in an earlier article, the sales for the game have been astronomical as the single-player adventure has the community's attention. Accordingly, everybody wanted DLC, another reason to keep playing and boy, did Sucker Punch deliver.

Excited? Intrigued? Over the flipping moon? Yeah, if I was a dedicated player, I would be too. (I never got too interested as I played enough Japanese-themed fighting in Sekiro).

Sucker Punch has added co-op multiplayer at NO EXTRA COST. Team up with all your friends that own the game and celebrate your love for the title together. Coming in Fall of this year, the co-op experience involves picking between four character classes. Depending on whether you're a Samurai, Hunter, Ronin or Assassin, the fun may be enjoyed in two forms:

  • Two players - co-op Story missions
  • Four players - waves of Survival missions
  • Four players (tryhards) - Destiny-type difficult Raids

Ghost of Tsushima is trying to deliver on the failure of similar titles, such as For Honor and Assassin's Creed by really trying to bring home a great multiplayer experience. Following up the masterful single-player, expectations are undoubtedly high for the multiplayer component. However, it doesn't go without notice that the entire gaming community is blissfully stunned at the free content and has showered Sucker Punch with incredible praise.

Due to the success of the title, the developers could have easily milked a few euros before allowing players to enjoy the free content. Of course, this could all be a marketing stunt though - where the multiplayer was in the full game and they removed it only to add it back, hence appearing as heroes. Regardless, free content is free content.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to think of the last time a title made the community as happy as this one. Maybe Gran Turismo Sport with its free monthly content since its release 2 years ago?

The community has faith in Sucker Punch - they can't mess this up and I have a feeling, they simply won't.
