Gears Esports dishing out Suspensions

The Gears of War competitive scene, like many others, has its own code of conduct. Legible on https://gearsofwar.com/en-us/esports/code-of-conduct, it covers the basic points of ‘no cheating’ ‘no offensive language, and so on.  It is safe to say that the Coalition take the code of conduct very seriously as it protects the authenticity of the esport; those who defy or ignore the code are sure to reap the repercussions.

As stated under the title, three professional players have been suspended by Gears Esports with varying penalties corresponding with severity of violation. This came after the first season of the Gears Pro Circuit was analysed and investigated.  The three suspended players are Christopher ‘Xcells’ Hill, Kaid ‘GODPLAYS’ Saleh and Nicholas ‘Red Icy’ Cope. Beginnning with ‘Xcells’, his punishment entails missing all Season Two of the Gears Pro Circuit for disrespectful actions, ignoring warnings and threatening behaviour to tournament staff as was announced. Such a ban will definitely harm the former E6 player’s life in the scene, missing out a whole season. ‘GODPLAYS’ received a slightly smaller punishment of missing the first three events of the upcoming seasons due to a couple of physical altercations.

The more interesting ban comes for ‘Red Icy’, not due to its weakness but because it may effect Optic Gaming’s dominant play style. Due to involvement in a physical altercation the player will miss the first event of the Season Two Gears Pro Circuit season.  Will Optic Gaming hold up without ‘Red Icy’?

Gears Esports does not play around, suspending three players, one severely enough to perhaps ruin his career. One thing that is certain, however, is that everybody will be on their best behaviour for Season 2 of the Gears Pro Circuit.
