Friberg Signed by Optic Gaming
Wednesday 23rd August 2017, 08:22 | written by: Gabriel SciberrasAfter roughly a month, the inevitable happened and the top tier player that is “friberg” has found a new team in Optic Gaming. This signing was complete alongside two other faces who’ve been looking for a spot recently; “allu” from Faze Clan and “Magiskb0Y” from North. European blood dominates the CS:GO side of the North American organisation.
The roster was finalised on August 18th, as ruled by ESL for the upcoming Pro League. Optic Gaming hadn’t made a public announcement yet, but the team was submitted and will be competing soon. There is undeniable promise in each of the players. Starting with “friberg”, who doesn’t need much of an introduction, he’s a formidable force who was a fundamental part in Na’Vi’s reign as an entry-fragger. After winning over twelve LAN events with the side, Optic Gaming will be his second team; he’s a loyal player. Then there’s “Magiskb0Y”, or Emil Reif, who many regard as a star player from North and “allu”, who will surely be looking to prove himself after being replaced by “GuardiaN” on his former Faze team.
Obviously, three isn’t a team, which is why Oscar “mixwell” Canellas is staying. However, a permanent fifth player is desperately needed. Fortunately, Keith “NAF” Markovic will be stepping in for the first week of games. The team needs to find a player by then.
Optic Gaming’s new roster will face its first challenger on Aug. 22 at 6.00pm CT, against the likes of Ghost Gaming. This will prove to be the proving ground for the team’s changes.
