Evil Geniuses disband Overwatch Squad

The large esports organisation of Evil Geniuses has recently decided to leave the Overwatch competitive scene.  After trying the waters for two months, the North American company  has decided to pull out following insufficient results.

All the players on the roster; ‘Kayunn’, ‘Peebimitsu’, ‘Goliath’, ‘Dcop’, ‘Elkiea’ and ‘Corey’ were all thrown into free agency. The former East Wind squad is deciding whether to stick together or part ways.  They did manage to scuttle together a few first place victories in small and rather irrelevant inline tournaments with huge disappointment at major events.

"It’s unfortunate to see the guys going, but I’m excited to see what is next for them as they grow along with Overwatch,"

- Evil Geniuses CEO Peter Dager said in a statement. He also wished them luck for their individual careers.

This exit from the scene resembles and follows the ongoing movement created by other top organisations. Examples include NiP, Fnatic, Splyce and Team Dignitas. Uncertainties waver over the future of Overwatch’s competitive lifespan if such a trend is to continue.
