ESL One Cologne partnered with Betway Betting
Tuesday 4th July 2017, 06:08 | written by: Gabriel SciberrasExponentially growing into the esports scene is Betway, a hugely remarked British online bookmaker who’s been around for a couple of years after creating an esports-dedicated microsite. Determined to continue its expansion, a deal was struck with ESL quite recently which will look to heavily incorporate gambling into tournament livestreams.
Thus, it has been said that the deal will ‘enhance the viewing experience’; let’s hope so. The agreement has come just in time for the ESL One Cologne tournament, so the live odds powered by Betway will have a chance to ‘enhance’ viewership. ESL is to use the odds to effectively showcase the equivalence in the competition. A little side note is that NiP also has a sponsorship deal with Betway and will be part of the weekend’s event.
We are delighted to partner with ESL for Cologne, a landmark event of the CS:GO calendar. With CS: GO being the most competitive it has ever been, we can't wait to see the world's top teams battle it out."
- Betway’s Anthony Werkman definitely sounds excited.
Such a deal is welcomed graciously by the community. Unregulated betting was used by Valve last year instead, an arguably less favoured system. Betway are part of the Esports Integrity Coalition and will therefore ensure fair, clean and healthy gambling.
It will be interesting to witness the developing relationship between odds and esports this coming weekend. Don’t miss the broadcast.
