COD World League Stage 1 Playoffs are upon us
Tuesday 23rd May 2017, 15:01 | written by: Kersten James ChircopAfter a gruelling month of tough, heart-racing competition in the frantic group stages, 16 of the best Call of Duty teams in the world have been distilled into a top 8. These fierce teams have also been drawn into two separate pots, from which they must claw their way out, towards the $200,000 prize money for 1st place, in the MLG Arena. Here are the results of the draw for the COD World League Stage 1 Playoffs;
The looming playoffs will take place within a dense weekend of epic showdowns and pure nail-biters, establishing rivalries and settling grudges, from May 26th to 28th. Although Infinite Warfare has not turned out to be quite a success for the community, the competitive scene has never seen such intense competition, due to more prize-money and more venues than ever before. Potential winners are Optic Gaming and EUnited, with only one European team in the mix, being Splyce. However, each team, consisting of respectable rosters, has rightfully secured their spot and a chance at handling the silverware. Yet, only from the ashes of gunfights and exciting strategies, may a winner rise.
