480HZ Panel Prototype Created!

Yes, you read the title correctly; 480Hz is closer than you think.

Panels over the past few years have certainly advanced forward in terms of display technology and performance. Mainly aimed at the use for professional gaming, many panel manufacturers have passed the 60Hz standard to facilitate serious gamers. Right now, 144Hz is probably the staple for most high-end monitors, with 1080p/240Hz also on the horizon for those who wish to pay big money.

Well, the guys at Blur Busters, who are experts on everything monitors, have created a 480Hz panel. Technically, it was originally a 4K/120Hz monitor which in itself is already a great feat which sounds gorgeous. Using “reduced resolution high refresh rate modes”, they’ve managed to switch up the proportions to create 1080p at the mentioned, still astonishing, 480Hz.

If you’re looking for the highest end of monitors and you feel daring enough to even think of buying such a monitor, don’t bother. The barebones prototype is far from the final product which may be industrially produced. But still, it tends to stimulate a little bit of excitement for the future of gaming.
